Hi-

I installed tdm.

Then I went to install 11749 from downloads.

I thought I could install no tool chain for mingw.

Then I could tell it where to look for TDM stuff.

If I install TDM first is there a need for mingw tool chain?

thx. mtdew3q

Hi-

I don't think it totally auto detected. I had to append row first and fill in values.

Now it has like a 1,000 errors.

Is there a setting where I can manually put the path of compiler in tdm directory?

thx.-

Hi all-

OKAY..sorry.

I put it in a funk and I rescued it .

It kept saying invalid build method (tdm.bm).

After I changed the build method description I needed to click the drop down box for debug and select the new build method description.

I changed the build method description to MINGWx64 and that of course has a .bm on the end of it as a file.

This is very cool. The mingw setup looked more difficult at a glance than the tdm.

thx.-

Hello,

U++ now bundles with MinGW on Windows. All you need to do is just download version with compiler, unzip it and enjoy our framework.

The question is - what will TDM give your over MinGW? It bases on the same compiler which is GCC.

Sincerely,
Klugier

U++ - one framework to rule them all.

Hi Klugier-

Thx. for making a build with gcc and mingw for windows.

I am still going to use cygwin, but I felt it necessary to learn mingw environment. In addition to the self contained version, I add mingw at c:\MinGW

I will use mingw for U++ and maybe some other programs and cygwin for others.

I used cygwin to install gnucobol without mingw, but the preferred way to install cobol currently on windows is mingw.

It is cool to learn more than one environment.

Have a cool week - mtdew3q
