Not very happy about this, but in the light of experience, I had to abandon my former idea of runtime optional linking of GTK.

So GTK is now linked and GTK headers are required in order to compile U++ apps.

You can however now avoid using GTK for theming by adding ".NOGTK" to the main package config (you can even compile TheIDE so that it does not use GTK).
