Create empty package, set it as main
Enter package organizer

You should get the new package selected on the left with empty window on the right.

Click into the empty window to switch focus.

Hit Esc to crash TheIDE.

Reproducible: always.

I tried it on some example packages, but they are always using some other package, which is using Core, so there is never empty window on the right side and the Esc does *not* crash IDE.
