Well I am really not sure why I picked the OLEDB way a few years back to read out some old DB's. Probably from some examples? After coming back after a long time it was a surprise the /oledb dir was empty...
I used to work a lot in Linux that's what I hated about the OLE way.. but currently I am not so I have to ask. You say it works in Linux too. Does that mean the same connection strings like "Microsoft Access Driver" or something?

OK thanks for your reply. as I said I'm not running any Linux at the moment but will try as soon as possible.
Well actually this is also working with mingw in contrary to OLEDB... still not sure why I even tried OLEDB
