Hi Mindtraveller

You can build umk with 'make umk' on FreeBSD.
You will perhaps be able to generate good BSD Makefiles with umk with tomorrow snapshot. Senderghost has created a patch that enable dynamic platform Makefile generation, a patch allowing you to compile like this:

umk assembly package CLANG +POSIX,BSD,FREEBSD -rs package.out

or generate Makefile like this:

umk assembly package CLANG +POSIX,BSD,FREEBSD -rsxMk out/
