MSVC17 - How set language for error messages
https://www.ultimatepp.org/forums/index.php?t=rview&goto=50555&th=10493#msg_50555
I have downloaded the upp nightly build and use it on Windows10.
There are a lot of improvements over the current stable Version and I like it.
My locale is german language and so I get german warnings and errors from the MSVC17 C++ compiler in the message window.
I would prefer english messages. Is this possible?
Edit: I found an answer by extensive googling:
Set the Environmentvariable VSLANG = 1033
restart TheIDE

Alternatively, you can delete german language from the VS installer.
Frankly, this idea of translating texts intended for developers is stupid...]]>mirek2018-11-16T14:32:09-00:00Re: MSVC17 - How set language for error messages

Yes it is.
There are probably marketing reasons for it.
Why does windows have a POSIX API that nobody uses?
Otherwise US goverment could not buy it because it is required by regulations.
The same could be true for translations.]]>peterh2018-11-16T16:12:41-00:00Re: MSVC17 - How set language for error messages

Thank you for the tip.
Maybe this option could be added to TheIDE ]]>koldo2018-11-17T16:52:53-00:00
