For my first serious Ultimate++ project, I found myself creating an application that provides an administrative console into Windows service we created that helps provide closed captioning of video content for broadcasters.
"Closed Captioning" might be better known as 'Subtitling' in some countries, although we make a distinction between the two. For us, subtitling involves modifying the original image with text, while close captioning involves writing information into the line21 video for television sets to interpret into subtitles for you. Closed captioning makes it possible for the viewer to turn off captioning, and view the video unblemished, while subtitling does not.
Anyway, broadcasters like for things to look pretty, so we try to make things look as nice as possible. In C++, this is normally a bit of a chore, but Ultimate++ made it much easier.
While I could let you download this application and run it for yourself, you cannot really see it in action without a service, so I'll provide some screenshots instead:

While logging in, we disable the Login button and show some progress. Note the use of Chameleon in this. Also note that, although I'm using 2007.1, I had to replace the edit control with the one posted to the forums in order to get the sort of 'invisible' effect that you see in this dialog...
