Using the SliderCtrl, I got several errors for this line in *.lay:
ITEM(SliderCtrl, 128, SetFrame(InsetFrame()).LeftPosZ(12, 216).TopPosZ(72, 24))

but is easy to fix:
Instead of "128" write "dv___128", thats all.

(have 2008.1 at WIN2K)

Me thinks you had to put "128" into variable field. dv___* is a placeholder you get there if you leave the field empty (it is a "unnamed variable name").
