I am wondering if PromptYesNo should return IDYES and IDNO instead of 1 or 0? This seems a bit confusing to me.

Well, it is easier to write

if(PromptYesNo(...))

than

if(PromptYesNo(...) == IDYES)

In any case, it is too late to change this...
