The key combination CTRL+U in the TheIDE close a tab page. When the icon designer is active CTRL+U produce instead a rotation of the bitmap although the menu continue to indicate the closure of the tab page. Is it normal?

You can adjust the keys (what is the best for you) in Setup/Keys...
