It seems Ubuntu's Unity is now Qt based and will run on top of Mir which will substitute X.

Will this break U++?

Power users don't seem to like Unity, but IMHO Canonical is moving in the right direction to make Linux on Desktop a more integrated, simple experience (similar to Mac OS X).

I think it will still support gtk apps, so we should be now OK.
