can't include .rc icons [message #41850]

I get an error when compiling ANY Upp project that has a .rc file included. Using MSC10

Example compiling GoogleTranslator:

----- plugin/bmp ( GUI MT MSC10 DEBUG DEBUG_FULL BLITZ WIN32 MSC ) (5 / 11)
----- RichText ( GUI MT MSC10 DEBUG DEBUG_FULL BLITZ WIN32 MSC ) (6 / 11)
----- Core ( GUI MT MSC10 DEBUG DEBUG_FULL BLITZ WIN32 MSC ) (7 / 11)

There were errors. (0:00.28)

Compilation succeeds once I remove the .rc file.
Any clues?

Hello kropniczki

In my case it works. TheIDE is from this weekend. From when is yours?

You can also set Setup/Be verbose to have more detailed messages.

Thank you Koldo for the very prompt response.

Totally my fault: I didn't check the box "Tools" in the installation options when installing SDK for Windows 7, so I did not get the rc.exe installed and theIDE consequently couldn't process any .rc file, though:

index.php?t=getfile&id=4413&private=0

Maybe in that case it would be possible to show a message to know that rc.exe does not exist.

Did you try the "Be verbose" option?

Yes, I agree. Indeed, I used verbose mode, but got no alert message whatsoever.

Anyway, not that I want to make a big thing of it, if I may suggest, the Ultimate++ Win32 Installation Guide could include another bullet point indicating the need to mark the tools section in the SDK installation wizard. This could be especially supportive to new U++ adopters.
