New U++ logo[ 11 votes ]
1. Yes, this logo is better for U++ and U++ IDE 3 / 27%
2. Yes, this logo is better for U++ but U++ IDE needs another logo 1 / 9%
3. The previous logo is better than this one 3 / 27%
4. I want to propose a better logo (see my comment below) 1 / 9%
5. I don't care 3 / 27%

I think it is time to make one logo for U++ and U++ IDE. Here is improved render of magnet-style logo:

index.php?t=getfile&id=4799&private=0

What do you think?
Any suggestions?

Well, this might be my fault, I might have rushed a bit integrating it with "TheIDE" text and placing it with the white space.

Maybe the author could provide complete about/splashscreen, with TheIDE text integrated? Just keep in mind that we are going to have there some additional info (ide version, 64 bit flag, GTK flag, memory consumed a the new is number of classes and code items in database).

I like new logo in general, although I would like to see other view angles, perhaps with shadow and perhaps with a thicker U letter.

Best regards

So finally managed to get my hands on the new builds.

It is always hard to update because I can never escape the trap of changing things in U++ to better suit my needs.

The new logo looks good, but I would make it slightly more contrasty and saturated.

I can't say I liked previous experiments very much.
So I continued thinking and came to more 'modern' style logos. As you know today's logos are flat and mostly based on fonts. So I've made a couple of attempts to make something in this direction. Here's it:

index.php?t=getfile&id=4809&private=0

I don't know for sure if it is better or worse. What do you think?

In TheIDE, the new logo is updated to the variant 1 (the original one). Looks very good.

For myself, I consider this issue closed. Good job mindtraveller!

It is nice. Let's change it everywhere.

It would be good to have icons to be included as favicon and in other places.

Hello Mindtraveller,

I would like to notice that "framework" is probably too hard to read. I think white letters can be a little bit thinner.

Please notice that current website logo contains logo of the "TheIDE" which is another upp brand. Don't take my wrong, upp contains two following products/brands:
- Ultimate++ framework - collection of c++ libraries
- Ultimate++ TheIDE (or TheIDE) - integrated development environment where the users can work on not Ultimate++ framework related code Wink
It is definitely not cleared. It is hard to understand that "TheIDE" is not part of "Ultimate++ framework". It is separate application. Maybe in the future this two products should be promoted more separately. Even wikipedia notice that "Ultimate++ TheIDE" exists - https:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_integrated_development_e nvironments.

Sincerely,
Klugier

Hi,

Mirek, I suggest using less "depressively" colored logo (#3 from list above).
I also present svg version of logo which may be usable.

Currently I couldn't draw site logo which I'd like, so I post a couple of ideas. Maybe they will inspire someone for better idea. I'll gladly implement it. Actually two following images are inspired by your thoughts you posted in this topic.

Hello,

I think we should back to discussion about replacing left corner logo by something more related to our new logo. I think the above idea is nice, but maybe we should only here remove this white lines inside and stay with the same font position and size of inscription. What do you think?

Sincerely,

This variant is not very good for top of site:
No emblem of C ++, - verbal plus signs.
(Present plus signs as decoration U letter can not be considered seriously)
