Thank's for the hint (U++ requested Classes Requests... PostgreSQL). I had implemented a simple cache for prepeared statement. i'm gonna change it to fit the U++ design.

Why doesn't have Commit, Rollback and ... methods a return value like execute? The user cannot see if Commit or Rollback failed.

with best regards
Peter

Well, I think that failing Commit or Rollback are equivalents of hardware failure - best you can hope for is nice panic message and application termination.

I don't think so. The user can decide after an error to switch to a second database or store all values in an emergency file for later restore into database.

I think it would not be amiss if Commit, Rollback and ... has a return value.

Might be true for Commit, but Rollback?
