I finished my work and the package is now published:

The sources are here so you may want to take the diff.gz in order to build the packages:
http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb/ubuntu/pool/apps/u/upp/
I will definitely give it a try.
The examples themselves which you have a worth an own package
