U++/TheIDE is very good.

It is licensed under GNU, source code to be made available.

It should be made clear and prominently displayed that applications coded using U++ for propriety purposes the source code of those applications do not need to be released.

When I suggest U++ to someone that is often the question.

Java, Python, etc. will never replace native code like C/C++ and U++ makes it much easier to work with.
