Hi maunix

In short, my recent experience in Ubuntu:
- Just in case, run
sudo apt-get install g++ make libgtk2.0-dev libnotify-dev libbz2-dev sox
- Download sources in any place from here
- Open terminal. cd to that folder
- make
- make install
