I uninstalled U++, downloaded v.1952 and reinstalled it using upp_1952_i386.deb. I now get the following errors:

----- CtrlLib ( GUI GCC SHARED FORCE_SIZE LINUX POSIX ) (1 / 9)
TrayIconX11.cpp
/home/gary/upp/uppsrc/CtrlLib/TrayIconX11.cpp:9:31: error: libnotify/notify.h: No such file or directory

CtrlLib: 1 file(s) built in (0:02.05), 2058 msecs / file, duration = 2098 msecs, parallelization 0%

There were errors. (0:02.10)

Every package I try to compile results in the same errors. I'm using Ubuntu v9.10.

Do you have libnotify-dev package installed on your system?

No, but I didn't have it for earlier versions either and they worked fine. Is it new for v1952? I dropped back to v1824 and have no problems with that version. v1952 had a strange appearance compared to other versions I've tried. theIDE was a dark grey and I was unable to change it. Is that normal for that version?

Hi gedumer

Yes, this dependency was added about two weeks ago (announced here). I guess you got a i386 deb from sf.net, right? Unfortunately I forgot to add this to the buildscript Koldo uses to build these packages, so the dependency wasn't installed automatically Embarassed Koldo already noticed and we fixed this earlier today. Next published deb should behave as expected.

I'm sorry for the troubles and bad impression it caused.

Best regards,
Honza

Thanks for the info... no problem at all.

BTW... does that also explain the strange appearance of theIDE mentioned above? It had a dark grey background and didn't seem to be affected by setting the GNOME appearance option.

Hello gedumer

Thank you for analyzing an reporting the problems.

The reason is the .deb compiling flags.

We have included libnotify-deb and right flags so we expect it will work now. Please try this download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/upp/files/upp/2019/upp_2019_ i386.deb/download.

Best regards
Iñaki
