I've incorporated Mirek's statement on the current state of porting Ultimate++ to various operating systems (message #7463) into my web site.

May I respectfully ask everybody who is involved in this topic to check whether my interpretation is correct?

MacOS/X11 runs on both x86 (and x86-64) and PowerPC CPUs (not only on PowerPC).

Thanks. Corrected.

I didn't have too much issue porting it to NetBSD, i386 only at the time, but not reason other CPUs can't be made to run.

Didn't realise Solaris was wanted, it is all we run at work. Pretty sure I have Purify installed too, if you feel really confident about your code Smile

Thanks for your response.

I understand that you succeeded in porting Ultimate++ to NetBSD running on an x86 cpu machine. So, can I tell the visitors of my web site that basically Ultimate++ runs under NetBSD and ... Embarassed that you are willing to help if problems arise? Rolling Eyes

Did I get you right that, as far as you see, Ultimate++ should run under Solaris, too?

Hi Werner,

Ultimate++ is also only tested on an i386 machine on FreeBSD (which also runs on several platforms).

Yes, NetBSD compile was fine, minor tweaks.. I can do a package for 601, and even submit patches (few) now that I know that they have a chance to be used. (sorry, just been burnt before Smile )

No, I don't mind helping. But it is MUCH easier if you have one IDE to build another. The commandline building is harder.

Chicken-egg problem Wink That is why I am so glad we have working Mac X11 IDE now, that will speed up things a lot...

Thanks.

At the next opportunity I'll rephrase that more precisely on my web site.
