This is post rc4 feature, therefore most likely post 2007.1... :

PDB debugger now supports threads (new droplist allows selection of thread to show its backtrace) and also better process breaks (able to break stopped process now - important for debugging deadlocks).

Since it looks like we will be having an rc5, is it reasonable/possible to include this into rc5?

Sure, it will in rc5, however, it is "PDB", so it does not affect "GDB" frontend.
