Hi Guys,

I'm playing around at building an Edit widget. I started by playing with and basing my implementation on EditString. I've successfully implemented the use of Filter. From what I understand, Format takes in value and converts it to a textual representation, and Scan the opposite (text -> value), yes?

When a real number value is entered into a DoubleEdit field and not correctly formatted, the text field turns red, indicating that a formatting error has occurred. What is the mechanism that tells and edit field such as DoubleEdit, that the input a user has provided is incorrect, and thus in turn, the edit field highlights red?
