Hi all-
I got stuck a zillion times with MinGW. The trick I kept forgetting is to specify fbclient.dll as fbclient.dll in the IDE linking section and not -lfbclient It is
okay to do -lmylib for a file named mylib.a though. No more can't find something in the search-path MSG!
With the IDE I am now using firebird with SOCI 4.0/firebird and MinGW.
I feel really bad because there is firebird in the bazaar. I am not a power user of C++ so I tended to gravitate away from U++ framework and the bazaar
because things like this get me stuck, and I am always asking questions. Using Tcl/Tk at least I can figure out a little more on my own. If I had more
C++ behind me I'd use the firebird in the bazaar but it is better to keep it simple. I have a very demanding day job at the moment (not programming).
Thanks so much for your help and patience- roboloki
