Not sure if it exist a simple way to add C++ syntax highlights to files with a different extension. For example. I use .inl to differentiate between headers and headers with inline functions. But the .inl come up with no syntax.

Is there a configuration file to add C++ syntax to user determined extensions?

If we are speaking about TheIDE, then no, there is no extension list (at this moment), BUT you can set any highlighting for specific file - right click it, choose File properties, change Highlighting from default to anything you want.
