Rendering a pdf [message #52899]

Hi there,
I have to create a simple application to show to an user some pdf files. This app will run in a kiosk-like environment (a pc that runs exclusively one program with no access to other applications), so I cannot launch an external program. The OS will be linux. Is there a way to render a pdf file in a Ultimate++'s GUI?

Unfortunately, we do not have .pdf parsing/renderning at this time in the library.

That said, I was faced with the same problem some time ago. I have solved it by using "pdftoppm.exe" commandline utility, run as 'slave' program, then interpreting results. I am not sure what counds as "launch external program" in your environment, but I would say that launching commandline should be possible for you.

I can send you some snippets of code if you like this path.

I store the data in a database, so I will save directly the pdf converted.
