Recently I have noticed that in some cases, it takes ages to load diretory in FileSel in Win32. The cause was loading of icons from the Shell.
That is why I have today tried to solve the situation with lazy loading of (some) icons, and also some timing to tell FileSel when it should give up searching for file-specific icons and start using generic ones...
