am trying to use Wix windows installer, using a book by nick ramirez . They say it is steep learning curve to learn this installer, but I am willing to take time to learn it with some help from forum.

I am trying to use command prompt because my VS 2005 just does not work with Wix Tools, has problems. There are some upgrade files (VS80sp1-KB926751-X86-INTL.exe ...) to run and when I run them got error that it can not find my program (VS 2005). Nick says you do not need VS 2005, can use command prompt. Already reinstall VS2005, same problem.

So I have 2 source files (installme.txt and PracticeWix.wxs) located in direcory: F:\PracticeWix\

here is what I typed in the command prompt:

"%WIX%bin\candle" -dBinFolderF:\PracticeWix\PracticeWix.wxs -v -ext WixUIExtension -out PracticeWix.wixobj PracticeWix.wxs

Got error, can not find the PracticeWix.wxs file . Do not really understand "-dBinFolder" , found this in web search.
