Tried to install upp on Ubuntu 10.10 using the script that worked with 10.04 "add-upp-repo.sh"

cd Downdoads
sudo bash add-upp-repo.sh

All attempts ended with:
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/

Trying to install through Synaptics:
upp:
Depends: g++ but it is not going to be installed or
g++ but it is not going to be installed
