what if i'd like to have code sources from other programming languages to be displayed? How difficult would be to implement customizable syntaxes file?

Well, in fact, it is perhaps easier to implement it in TheIDE... (ok, keywords are easy, but lexical rules for more complicated items are not that easy to define).
