I built a little 'backup' program that used a custom tar-like routine, then compressed the package, then uploaded via SFTP. I did most of the software using standard Upp features. I did however have to implement a custom, cross-platform, file packer (tar-like algorithm). I also had to find a ssh library (which was the most non-trivial part of the whole package!). I think I used something called libssh2... or something similar.

So I know it is possible. Of course, I had a bad HD crash and lost that code... or I would be willing to share it.
