You may try also this book (free for download), it's linux oriented but it will very likely help you even on different platforms (especially POSIX ones).
The multithreading part of that book did feel quite to the point for me, and gave me good start.

edit: of course the U++ MT classes are not covered in it, but knowing the building blocks (system calls) will help you also to understand the building (U++) itself. Wink
