IMHO, it does not need to be yet another mascot. In my view this can be done just by telling the story of how this software was developed where and by whom and perhaps adding two or three pictures and putting it on the web site. Just a thought...

U++ history might be an interesting reading as well... I am just not quite sure whether there is time for D&E of U++ Smile
