Is such a thing possible? If not then some pointers on how/where they are implemented would be helpful so that I can reproduce the effect, I've looked through CtrlDraw.cpp but I'm none the wiser.

I am not sure what you mean by "speed" here, anyway ToolTip is implemented in CtrlLib/ToolTip.cpp (BTW, sometimes you can find where things are defined / implemented by pressing Ctrl+Q).

Sorry, I meant tooltip 'delay'. I also feel pretty silly for missing TooTip.cpp.
