If *I* would be in charge, I would postpone this after 2008.1 unless you have some very good reasons to upgrade (did you hit some bug with current version?).
But Mirek&co. often love to upgrade SW any time, so you have good chance with this request. Smile

Still, can you see the changelog between the version used in upp and new 1.2.3 to make sure it is suitable for stable 2008.1? Try to evaluate how much they did change, and if some fixed bug is important for upp. If we need to upgrade before 2008.1 or if it can wait. Thanks.

err.. what version do we have in UPP?

zlib.h says 1.1.4, README says 1.2.2 .. funny. Very Happy

Anyway we are way behind current 1.2.3 which is anyway 3 years old without changes, so it is very likely stable enough for 2008.1.

Mirek: should I try to patch it and compile if it doesn't need tweaking? But I don't know what to test after that to see if it works.

Versions 1.1.4 and later eliminate an earlier potential security vulnerability, see details here. Any software that is linked against or derived from an earlier version of zlib should be upgraded immediately. A partial list of over 500 applications using zlib is given here (uncompressed).

What about to upgrade to the last release?

I compared every file of zlib from pligin\z\lib and original version.
The real version is 1.1.4. difference by original version is some precompilled directive added in u++ for WIN CE.

#if 0 // not needed, not supported by WIN CE

How about for upgrade to 1.2.3?
