We have a couple of problems where I would welcome community help...

Most of time it involves pointing us to the right direction - website, snippet of existing code etc.. Of course, code contribution is possible as well, but most often it is information that I really need....

To start with, I would really need to know how to read "GTK settings" - I mean as much information about GTK as possible (font settings, colors, widget settings etc...).

I know almost nothing about this, but I think most user-settings in GNOME and many other programs is maintained via GConf. http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/
You can get the idea by browsing it running gconf-editor. I hope this is what you mean.

Ehm, the post is from 2006. Today, these issues are completely resolved Wink

IMO, current level of GTK integration is quite good.

Embarassed I'm sorry, I misread the 2006 as 2008.
