Hello all

Now TheIDE follows a certain package order to compile a project, independently of the package that is being modified now.

In general this is not a problem, as it lasts very few time to check if there are changes in every package.

However in bigger projects (now I work in a project with 54 packages), TheIDE can last 30 secs or more just to warn a simple syntax error in the last modified file.

To avoid this it would be great if TheIDE would start package checking and compiling from the last modified package.

Of course this is not a solution valid for all situations, as anybody externally could have modified a file in a package that casually could be the last one to be checked. However in many normal cases it would accelerate package debugging a lot Smile .

Best regards
Iñaki

Hi Koldo,

Interesting (and good) idea.

This could be solved by ordering the packages by last-modified-date of their directory. That would catch even external modifications.

Not really helpful as checking these last-modified-dates is exactly what takes so long... well, that is educated guess, I am not quite satisfied with speed too, so I guess some profiling is needed here.

That said, starting with last the last modified package in current ide session is not a bad idea at all!

After an hour long profiling session, I have found a stupid cause of slowdown. Should be much faster now.
