size of unzipped download installation

1.00 GB (1,080,156,058 bytes)

I don't recall it being nearly that big before.
Is that because of the mingw tool chain?

Thanks Koldo and Mirek

I will try loading it on a thumb drive and see how 'portable' it is.

Bought a 64 GB flash drive.
To copy the unzipped upp 11111 the estimated time would have been 2 hours.

I copied the upp 11111.7z just a few minutes.
Using 7z to unzip time estimate 10.24 hr ?? will just copy.
The drive and ports are usb 2.0.

How many OS is this portable to?

OK, will tell you a dirty little secret:

"Portable" in reality means "We are too lazy to create .msi and obey all everchanging Microsoft rules, so we will just .zip the thing and call it a day".

(But to be fair to myself, there are some checks and directory adjustments in theide, so if whole thing is moved to another directory, it should 'selfadjust').

I just let the copy run while I slept.
I tried running theide from the flash drive.
It worked the first time without any problem.
The app I compiled was just 4,358 KB -- that is truly portable.
That is a great job developing upp.

Neil

edit: I plugged the usb flash drive into an older 32 bit machine,

theide32 ran fine there also.

Hi cbpporter

Yes it was slow and it took a lot of disc space.

upp-mingw-11111
Size 1.34 GB (1,441,662,328 bytes)
Size on disk 5.71 GB (6,139,150,336 bytes)
Contains 38,699 Files, 1,983 Folders

That flash drive like most sold now have the exFAT format so it can be used on a Mac also.
I will do some checking and may just reformat it to FAT32

3.4 GB but takes 5.71 disk space ????

I formatted to NTFS

size 1.33 GB (1,437,853,825 bytes)
Disk space 1.39 GB (1,501,822,976 bytes)
the copy was a little under 1 1/2 hr
that is a bit 'more better' than the exFAT
