Hi

TheIDE crashes after starting a program.

How to reproduce

1. Start TheIDE
2. Open Button in examples
3. Click on the menu option "Debug/Execute"
4. Close the Button example

TheIDE crash with a memory access error.

U++ version tested

upp-14665 on Linux and Windows
upp-14670 (last one) on Linux

Comment

This bug was introduced in commit 14663 with changes in uppsrc/CtrlLib/MenuItem.cpp.

I just test it and work fine for me:

I started TheIDE (version 14375 Built with Mingwx64)

Select "Button" package in "Exemple" Assembly
Launched it in debug mode via menu option Debug/execute
Then when closing Button example, everythings work well.

I did both with MSVSx64 and CLANGx64 bith where setup in Debug mode

I did the exact same thing with TheIDE v14665 downloaded from Upp website and yes, it crash However since my self made build from SVN seems newer and don't crash I bet it will be fix on next Nightly builds

TheIDE version 14665 is greater than 14375, the one you tested. This is why it works for you.

The issue has appeared with 14663 commit.

I tested the latest Windows and Posix tarballs (14670) and the same issue remains.

Very likely the same issue as with crash when opening another package; should be now fixed (please test).

(The problem was actually with new menu feature which adds return "bool" value to Execute in case some menu item was invoked...)
