Here is a patch for Chameleon on gtk to show the correct colours in menu. It solves "dark" themes problems where the menu text colour have to be in contrast with menu background(see "New Wave" theme introduced in Ubuntu9.04).
P.S.: This patch is specially made for Mirek , maybe you may consider git(or others dvcs) and other specialised tools and make your life easier, so you don't have to apply patches by hand .

Believe or not, this particular format of patch is understood by theide So applying it is simple.
It is however surprising, if you look beyond the surface, how many different things are hidden under ".patch" extension
