I thought there was a deb package for i386 linux, but couldn't find it on SF or google. Is one available or must I install from the source? I tried to install from source but kept getting file/directory errors.

NOTE: Problem solved...

not sure what your solution was. for me, not much experience compiling things from source so likely to not have some dependencies already installed. on ubuntu 9.04, I needed to have xorg-dev installed. now upp-1422 is successfully makeing

>sudo apt-get install xorg-dev
or find it in synaptic probably also

then uncompress the source, cd into the folder that has been created, and type make

next I will use checkinstall to install it as a package incase need to remove, etc easily.

hope this helps anyone else, or if I'm incorrect, please correct me.

hmmm, still making, it's going, but has been >10 min so far, is this normal? 2.2GHz Celeron, 1G ram processor use is full, memory about half.

now it needs more, fails at this error:
CtrlLib/ChGtk.cpp:21:21: error: gtk/gtk.h: No such file or directory

I installed libcairo2-dev, and libgtk2.0-dev with synaptic

then make completed successfully

and checkinstall (run as root) also succeeded, and theide seems to run....

Thanks, Dale
