I need somebody to investigate what are WinCE cross-development options.

I believe there is WinCE GCC development toolchain for linux - great. Check and setup experiences needed.

Is it possible to use it in Win32, either mingw way, or in cygwin?

Free download of eVC++ 4.0 does not seeem to have C++ good enough to compile U++. Are there other options?

Maybe. I do not know. Let me make it clear - I can use google too... and I have seen that as well.

What I would need is somebody to actually _try_ those tools. In ideal case, get ready the environment that is capable of building U++ (mean, C++ at GCC 3.2+ level or MSC 7.1+ level, linking with MS PocketPC libraries (C++ std library is not needed)).

There are emulators, I guess.

Moreover, we are going to have cross-development environment. You can test it without the real HW I believe.

Well, best info I was able to find:

http://www.telusplanet.net/public/wuth/linux-windows-stronga rm.html#Ref1

So there is "gnuwince" toolchain, however seems to work in linux only - or in cygwin.

Hm, looks like the first iteration of WinCE U++ will be done in Linux Smile Quite paradox, is not it?

Anyway, somebody to downloang GNUWINCE and test whether it works?
