OK, somehow I ruined QTF color display.

Even installed a fresh U++...

Ha, found it!

annotation_popup.TextColor(HighlightSetup::hl_style[HighlightSetup::INK_NORMAL].color);

Setting text color overrides both foreground and background colors.
