Maybe if you use some technology included in U++ with scientific content related to your research, you may cite it.
For example, in a paper, as I used the ScatterDraw/Eigen data fitting features, I referred to MINPACK (Jorge Moré, Burt Garbow, and Ken Hillstrom, see this).
