I admit I've never used it, but git sounds like the ... ehm... ultimate versioning system. If it is so powerful to handle well the Linux source tree (it was created for this task), why shouldn't you use it?

In the long term I think also that business people would like a direct support for large project handling, which is the main goal of git.
