Even if they change the license, KDE will probably still be able to use the current version for Qt. And AFAIK, Qt wanted to adopt some sources from kdelibs for Qt version 4.4, so it seems that they communicate and I don't think they will have problems. But who knows?
I am afraid that this will not matter. A lot of thing is not decided on technical/licensing matters. IMO, a lot of people, before choosing desktop environment, will take these news as drawback.
Besides, my feeling is that Gnome was a winner recently anyway. Nokia might be just last nail in the coffin...
