I think the best package managing system and dependency resolver I've ever seen was developed for arch linux. Pacman is very simple for end user, gives human readeble output and works perfectly well (at least for me). I'd like ubuntu switch to it. Sorry to say but debian based distros are too complicated (I mean manual configuration here) and a little bit bloated, but I'm very happy that thanks to ubuntu people could see there's something else than windows.
